Ireland, 2018

When we remember Ireland, how do we describe it? Do we talk about the architecture, the history, the art? Do we remember the food and drink? Do we think about meeting up with our youngest for a raucous night in Dublin? Or the gentle, whispering waves of Inch Beach that brought me to tears?

Is it enough, finally, to share some images and try to evoke the feeling we had there? A feeling of adventure, excitement and ancestry but also, because of the timing, of melancholy and bittersweet and loss. Ireland brought me joy and broke my heart.

Maybe we didn’t spend enough time to sort out all the feelings evoked during our stay. We’ll be back, Emerald Isle….
